Shuttle Service
Transition 1 (Two Jack Lake) will not be accessible by vehicle on either Friday or Saturday so we transport will be very limited on Friday so we are suggesting that you ride to Two Jack Lake (approximately 12k from the town site) or drive to the overflow parking lot on the Minnewanka Loop and ride in (approximately 4.5k). Shuttles will be provided to transport you back to the parking lot or town site as well as to transport you to Two Jack Lake on race day. Thanks for your help with this - it will not only ease congestion on the Minnewanka Loop and show Banff National Park that the event can coexist with normal park activities, but it will also be very good for the environment with the use of mass transit.
You can also drive to the Overflow Campground on the Lake Minnewanka Loop, park your car and ride up to the bike check at T1 (Two Jack Lake) from there.
Shuttles back to Central Park will be running every 30 minutes.
Spectators - We are heavily recommending that spectators, friends, and family do not go to the start area (Two Jack Lake) on race morning. There will be limited space on the shuttles for spectators (athletes will take priority) and the viewing at Two Jack Lake will be somewhat minimal. We will also not be able to ensure that spectators are returned to the second transition and finish area in time to see the athletes on the run or possibly even for their finish. On the other hand, the viewing in Central Park (downtown) for the bike finish, run loops (where you will see the athletes multiple times - up to 4 times per loop!), and finish area right down Banff Ave will be excellent!
