The 2011 Subaru Western Triathlon Series is now open for registration and features five exciting events hosted in beautiful locations across Canada's west coast and Rocky Mountains. The Series has blossomed in to a collection of high profile world class events attracting the attention of Triathlete Magazine, the world-leading industry publication, who awarded 3 Series races with Top 10 Best Races in the World in their categories. Athletes of all abilities, from first-timers to the top elite athletes, will participate in different distances including Half Iron, Sprint, and Relay. Many of the races serve as Provincial Series events, Championships, and World Qualifying events. The events will have a festival feel and include an expo, kid's fun run, incredible draw prizes of trips, bikes, etc, entertainment, great New Balance clothing, prizing, and clinics hosted by top international coaches and athletes.

This Saturday marks the inaugural running of the Subaru Banff International Triathlon. 750 athletes from 8 countries, including UK, Australia, Japan, and Austria, 9 provinces and 8 US states will enjoy the pristine beauty of Banff National Park. They will be welcomed to the finish line by an estimated 10,000 spectators on Banff Avenue in downtown Banff, with the majestic Rocky Mountains providing a striking backdrop.
