Kilshaw and Kiers Take First Stop on Subaru Series Record Numbers Participate at Shawnigan Lake

Today record numbers turned out to Shawnigan Lake kick off the 2010 Subaru Western Triathlon Series. Athletes from 6 countries, and of all abilities, raced across 3 race distances; the Sprint, the Olympic, and the Half Ironman. The athletes started the day by diving in to the beautiful waters of Shawnigan Lake followed by loops around the lake on the bike. The race finished with the run along the majestic Trans Canada Trail and by the historic Kinsol Trestle built in the 1920's to connect Victoria with the northern parts of Vancouver Island.
Join your fellow athletes, friends, family, and "Dine with the Pros" at the Shawnigan Lake Triathlon Pre Race Bar-B-Q. The gourmet BBQ dinner, hosted by the Shawnigan Lake Business Association, takes place shortly after the Saturday registration and pre-race meeting at Steeples Restaurant in their secluded back garden
John Botelho, after 3 years with the LifeSport Team as the Technical
Director, the infrastructure person, the chair of all the organizing
committee's, the equipment coordinator, ... the list goes on, is leaving
the Series. Thank you John for all your hard work and legacy with the
Series.

("NB 15") on June 20th .
