Saturday, May 25

 

12:00pm - 6:00pm: Race Pack Pick-Up - Shawnigan Lake Village

  • Mandatory race package pick-up at Shawnigan Lake Village, NOT at the Race Site - you must pick-up your race package BEFORE checking in your bike at the race site
  • You will be required to present your Triathlon BC card or other picture identification and sign a waiver

12:00pm - 4:00pm: Shawnigan Lake Village Triathlon Festival

  • Lots of fun family activities and a marketplace with food, local artisans and entertainment

1:00pm - 6:30pm: Mandatory Bike Drop - W. Shawnigan Lake Park

  • All bikes must be dropped off at West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park within this timeframe and be left secured overnight in transition - NO EXCEPTIONS (remember to register first in the Village)

1:00pm - 6:00pm: Race Expo Opens - W. Shawnigan Lake Park

  • Sport and Lifestyle Expo at West Shawnigan Lake Park
  • Features vendors, entertainment and retail booths with a healthy lifestyle focus

1:30pm: Danone Kid's Fun Run - Shawnigan Lake Village

  • 3 distances to choose from - 300m, 800m and 2km
  • Elsie Miles Field (Shawnigan Lake Village)
  • Registration begins at 12:30

3:30pm - 4:00pm: Coaching Clinic - W. Shawnigan Lake Park

  • Learn some new tips from the LifeSport coaches at the Free Triathlon Skills Clinic at the race site

4:00pm - 4:30pm: Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting - W. SL Park

  • Everyone must attend this important meeting for some last minute details and race information at West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park

 5:00pm to 7:00pm: Camp Pringle Fundraiser Pasta Party!

  • Dine with your fellow athletes, pros, volunteers and race organizers at the Camp Pringle Pasta Party - right next door to the race site!
  • The menu will feature a delicious gourmet chicken lasagna, Chef Bob's famous mac and cheese, "gluten-free" baked spaghetti, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and berries and ice cream for dessertDinnerTix
  • Coffee, tea and juice will be available and Merridale Cidery will be running a cash bar

 


Sunday, May 26 - Race Day

 

5:30am - 4:00pm: Bus Shuttle

  • All race participants must take the shuttle or be dropped off at the race start (Half, Olympic, Sprint, Super Sprint, Relays)
  • A shuttle bus service will be available free of charge all day beginning at 5:30am from the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre (2804 Shawnigan Lake Road East) to West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park

6:00am: Transition Opens - West Shawnigan Lake Park

  • Access to Transition will be limited throughout the day due to other races in progress and security restrictions
  • Please respect the volunteers managing transition

 6:00am - 9:00am: Body Marking/Timing Chips

  • Body marking and timing chip pick-up will occur at transition
  • Please allow enough time before your race start to get marked and pick-up your chip

6:00am - 3:00pm: Expo and Entertainment

  • The Sport and Lifestyle Expo will be running throughout the day on Sunday at West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park

7:00am - 1:00pm: Rotary Brunch

  • The Rotary Cookcart will be on-site to serve you a selection of yummy brunch items, including: pancakes, sausages, ham n' egger muffins, coffee, juice, smoothies (weather pending)
  • Only $6 for a complete breakfast!

Wave Times: Please note that times could still be subject to change, please confirm start times at Registration

7:00am: Super Sprint Start (High School)

  • Single wave start in waist-deep water
  • Single loop - short course

8:00am: Half Iron Start

  • Single wave start in waist-deep water
  • 25m + 2 x 925m loop+25m
  • Swim cut off is race clock time of 1:05

9:00am: Olympic Start

  • Single wave start in waist-deep water
  • 25m + 2 x 750m loop + 25m
  • Swim cut off is race clock time of 1:00

9:45am: Sprint Wave 1 Start

  • Start in waist-deep water
  • Single loop - short course

9:48am: Sprint Wave 2 Start

  • Start in waist-deep water
  • Single loop - short course

11:30am: Super Sprint/Sprint/Olympic Bike Removal

  • Removal of bikes from transition for the Super Sprint, Sprint and Olympic finishers will be restricted to certain times due to other events in progress and security considerations

 1:00pm: Bike Cut-Off

  • ALL participants must be off the bike course by the 1:00 cut-off time
  • If the course is not completed in this time, regardless of race distance, the participant will not be allowed to continue
  • Cut off to begin final loop of the bike course is 12:00pm

1:00pm: Super Sprint/Sprint/Olympic Awards Ceremony

 

3:00pm: Half Iron Awards Ceremony

 

4:00pm: Run Cut-Off

  • All Half Iron participants who have not finished their run by 4:00pm will not receive a finishing time
  • Loop cut off (at T-Junction) is 2:45pm
